Tooth profile differences has been the difficult problem for the roller company over the years,particularly,the problems caused by such differences are more prominent.The roller,as the key part of one machine,which the processing quality,especially,the tooth profile processing quality has been the focus of the roller production company.We can say roller tooth differences have become an indicator of measuring roller production and processing level.This paper designs a new type of roller tooth type detector,which has important meaning and value for detecting the type of the roller difference.In summary this article studies the main content is as follows,first mainly introduces the source of this topic,the research significance,the research status at home and abroad and the main research content and subject;second put forward the theory basis of using polar coordinate method to detect tooth type of mathematical model for the design,the design requirements for the detector structure as well as the required target,adopt the Solidworks2014 software to make 3D modeling and assembly of detector parts,make the mechanical analysis and optimization of key components,mainly introduce the measuring head orientation of the core parts and the structure design of the needle;then mainly focus on the design of the motor and grating sensor,putting forward the error sources of the grating measurement as well as make in-depth analysis of the impact;then make the finite element analysis of the core parts to verify the validity of the design,putting forward the detector system error sources through the in-depth analysis,the accuracy,stability and repeatability of the detector is much higher than the general measuring instrument through the experimental data which proved the reliability;finally is the conclusions and outlook.Roller tooth profile detector has been achieved the ideal results in practical application,which the precision can be reached to 0.001mm,test repeatability is 0.002 mm,the testing time can be controlled within 5 min,which reach the design requirement.The detector's design and research provides a novel and effective method for the roller tooth's detection,which play an important role for the roller quality improvement as well as the products quality improvement.
