Composite materials has a very broad space for development,it will be one of important research areas in today but even quite a long time in the future.Advanced resin matrix composites is an fiber reinforced material,which is based on organic polymer,and it usually uses glass fiber,carbon fiber,boron fiber or aramid fiber as reinforcement,and then its comprehensive performance is almost equal to aluminium alloy.For the advantages of high strength ratio,anti-embrittlement ratio,corrosion resistance,high temperature resistance,good resistance to fatigue and shock absorption,it has been more and more widely used in aeroplanes,cars,wind turbines,pipes,pressure vessels and building materials areas.With the continual popularization and application of composite materials,corresponding prototyping manufacturing technologies and equipments have obtained constant development.The development of filament winding/placement prototyping technology and equipment is most representative,it reflects very widely application values in many fields,especially in wind turbines and aerospace areas.This paper researches and designs a large CNC gantry type fiber placement machine,which uses composite fiber placement prototyping technology as research object,and summarizes the current research status and development direction in this field at home and abroad.It has eight fiber bundles laying function,and each fiber bundle is independent.Dissertation work includes the following aspects:First,the research and design projects of the CNC gantry type fiber placement machine is proposed,and one project is determine,and then the parameters of the machine parts on this basis is calculated.The 3D models of the machine parts is built up,and a virtual prototype model is assembled by mens of CATIA.Second,the working principle of each mechanism of the machine is introduced in detail.Gantry device,mechanical arm and rotating bracket device,fiber guide device,cooling device,clamping device,sending device,cutting device,compacting device,heating device in placement head are mainly described in this paper.Third,the finite element analysis of the key components of the machine is carried out by ANSYS Workbench,which mainly includes the static,modal and harmonic response analysis.And the evaluation of the strength,stiffness,stability and reliability of the whole machine on this basis is made.Fourth,the dynamic simulation analysis of the virtual prototype model is completed by mens of ADAMS,which is built up in CATIA software.The motion curve of the key mechanisms has been obtained and the feasibility evaluation of the design is made.Mechanical arm and placement head are the important mechanism of the whole machine,and joint motion simulation analysis of them is focused on in this paper.The results of this paper can provides a useful reference to the winding/placement equipments' research and design.
