Based on existing three dimensional jet tray,whirl spraying tray as object of study was designed.Based on the multifunctional combined tower,whirl spraying tray were carried out systematic study under an water-air system in this paper.Firstly,influence of operating parameters on tray pressure drop and relative lifting capacity were investigated.The results show that relative lifting capacity first decrease then little changed with increase of F-factor,relative lifting capacity gradually increase with increase of clear liquid height,and total tray pressure drop first increase then little changed with increase of liquid flow.Correlations between dry tray pressure drop and F-factor were obtained through fitting experimental data.These experimental results provide theoretical reference for study of mass transfer efficiency and industrial application about the tray.Secondly,influence of plate structure parameters on tray pressure drop and relative lifting capacity were investigated.Plate structure which has optimal tray pressure drop,lifting capacity and operational stability within the experimental range were obtained.And the close relationship between tray pressure drop and lifting capacity is validated.Finally,Whirl spraying tray was compared with existing three dimensional jet tray.Plate pressure drop of whirl spraying tray increase 20%,its relative lifting capacity nevertheless almost doubled,which validate rationality of design of whirl spraying tray on intensifying the mass transfer.
