As an important gas-liquid mass transfer equipment,the plate tower plays a crucial role in the fields of petroleum,chemical industry,food,medicine and so on.The structure of the tray directly affects the product separation efficiency,energy consumption and product quality.Therefore,it is even more significant to accelerate the research and development of new and efficient trays in today's society,where competition is becoming increasingly hot.In this paper,combined with a variety of characteristics of the plate tower structure,a new type of Total Spray Tray?TST?,is developed.The tray rejected the design concept of the separation of liquid drop and mass transfer from traditional tower.Through structural innovation,the organic unity of mass transfer and liquid drop is realized,so that the TST tray has the advantage of both the flow and the cross-flow tray.In TST hydraulics experiment,the basic tray fluid mechanics performances,such as dry pressure drop,wet pressure drop,clear liquid height,quantity of leaking liquid and liquid entrainment rate,were studied in a plexiglass tower with a diameter of 400 mm with air-water as the medium,and through the numerical simulation of the three-dimensional gas-phase flow field in the TST tray spray hood,the structural optimization scheme of TST is proposed.The experimental results show that the TST tray,especially the modified TST tray,has excellent fluid mechanics performances:1.Under normal operating conditions?8<F0<17?,the TST tray has lower plate pressure drop.For the modified TST tray,when the F0 reaches 17,the dry pressure drop is only 500pa,compared with TST tray?no spoiler element?the dry pressure drop is lower 30%.2.The TST tray has a lower leakage limit,and when F0=3,the TST tray is not reach the gas loading lower limit.3.Under the higher gas velocity,the entrainment amount is small.When the F0 reaches3,the TST tray is not reach the upper limit of the gas phase load4.The height of the layer is adjusted automatically with increase of the velocity,so when the velocity is high,no flooding occurred.
