Research On The Impact Of Income,Individual Income Deprivation On Health Of Urban And Rural Residents In China

Based on the CGSS2010 data,i discuss the effects of income and income deprivation on self-rated health and mental health of individuals by applying ordered logistic model and semi-parametric model.The results of ordered logistic regression show that:before the introduction of individual income deprivation,income of urban residents have a significant negative impact on self-rated health,while it has a significant positive influence on self-rated health for rural residents and on mental health for both urban and rural residents.When considered relative deprivation as a variable,both income and relative deprivation have negative significant effect on self-rated health and mental health.There are three innovation aspects: first,different from most of the literature using binary Logistic model take the study,this paper establishes Ordered Logistic model to avoid the further calculation of the data;secondly establish the semi parametric model to avoid a mandatory hypothesis that it exists linear relationship between health and logarithmic income in traditional model.Finally,when using micro data to study the effects of inequality on health,it is more appropriate to apply individual relative index than population index.This study is divided into the following sections:The first chapter is introduction.This part mainly introduces purpose and significance of this study.Then it defines the concepts involved in this paper.Drawing technology road map and introducing the innovation of this paper.The second chapter is a review of the effects of income and income deprivation on health.This part mainly involves research status of factors which influence health in domestic and abroad,relative deprivation measure research review,theory reviews on how income and income deprivation affecting health.The third chapter is the model construction of the influence of relative deprivation on the health of urban and rural residents in China.On the basis of pre-chapter,this chapter constructs the model of how income and income deprivation impact health of urban and rural residents in China.The fourth chapter,the empirical analysis of the impact of income and individual income deprivation on the urban and rural residents' health.we discuss the effects of income and income deprivation on health of individuals by applying ordered logistic model and semi parametric model.The fifth chapter is conclusion and policy suggestion.Based on the empirical analysis results given in the end of the theory in fourth chapter applied the ordered logistic model and the semi parametric model,then put forward to policy recommendations.
