The Relationship Between Family Income And Health Of Middle-aged And Elderly Residents

Since 1978,residents' health status has been improved obviously.However,different residents in different districts have different household income,it also influence the health of residents.Meanwhile,in our country,the amount of elderly people is growing.It leads many families into poverty.Therefore,we should pay attention to middle-aged and elderly residents and their health status should arouse our attention,too.Firstly,we pay attention to research the household income and health of different residents through different methods.In theoretical analysis,we mainly introduce two important relevant theories.In empirical analysis,we use the data of CHARLS in 2013,based on the ordered Logistic model and PCA,empirical analysis the mechanism of action between household income and health of different elderly residents.Which can be divided into household income,individual basic characteristics,family factors,housing status,living habits,health care and life satisfaction.General empirical analysis results show that the health condition of middle-aged and elderly residents can be improved with the increase of household income level.In the aspect of individual basic characteristics,female residents of the health status was weaker than male middle-aged and elderly residents,the increase of age will reduce the health of middle-aged and elderly residents,education and sleep time will improve the health of them,too.As far as the family,family size cannot significant effect the health of this kind of residents.In the aspect of housing conditions,flush toilets and tap water can improve the health of them.In the aspect of living habits,occasional drinkers have a better health.In the aspect of health care,when the doctors told the patients need to be hospitalized,middle-aged and elderly residents need to comply with the doctor's advice.If they participated in the medical insurance,they should also continue to focus on their own health.As far as life satisfaction,those who satisfied with the life have a better health condition.Meanwhile,compared with the middle-aged and elderly residents which come from rural and urban,we can find the increase of household income has a greater impact on the rural middle-aged and elderly residents.
