Objective This study is planned to master the risk factors and distribution characteristics by investigating the hypertension prevalence of residents living in Hubin district of Sanmenxia,and provide a scientific basis for the strategies developed of prevention and treatment and the implementation of intervention measures by probing the risk factors associated with the prevalence of hypertension.Methods 3017 inhabitants over 18 years old living in the area under their jurisdiction are selected randomly with the method of multistage random sampling.Data acquisition are obtained with the method of questionnaire survey and physical examination.A database is established by Epi Data 3.1 software with the method of double-pass blind to enter the date,and SPSS17.0 software is used to conduct statistical analysis with single factor analysis of Chi-square test and multiple factors analysised of Logistic regression.The test level of α is set to 0.05.Results 1.The hypertension prevalence of residents living in Hubin district is 28.11%,and the rate of residents with prehypertension is 14.92%.The awareness rate,treatment rate,control rate are 51.30%,66.04% and 29.25% respectively.There are more male than female with the hypertension prevalence which is increasing with ages.And also,there is no difference between men and women after age of 50.2.The smoking rate of residents living in Hubin district is 22.27%,secondhand smoke exposure rate is 32.71%,and successfully quit smoking rate is 9.82%.The rates of male smoking,current smoking and daily smoking are 46.73%,41.82% and 28.43% respectively,which are higher than female presenting the first rise with the increase of age after falling.And female secondhand smoke exposure rate is 40.45%.The drinking rate of residents living in Hubin district is 20.98%,and the often drinking rate is 8.52%.The rates of male drinking,often drinking are 39.41% and 17.60% respectively which are higher than female,presenting the first rise with the increase of age after falling.The intake of vegetables,fruits,and meat are 296.47±150.36 g,172.73±135.71 g and 66.96±65.36 g on average respectively.The rates of inadequate intake are 46.30%,57.84% and 52.04% respectively.And the rate of salty taste is 20.88%.39.28% of people are working in the low intensity,with 28.37% having no traffic activity,and 59.33% having no medium and above intensity exercise.The BMI is 23.38±3.32 kg/m2 on average,and there are 40.40% of people with obese and overweight.The average waist size is 80.29±9.65 cm,and the rate of central obesity is 43.09%.The prevalence of diabetes is 11.73% increasing with age,and there is no difference between male and female.3.It is showed that the risk factors of hypertension in Hubin District including family history,gender,age,fruit intake,food taste,traffic physical activity,BMI,central obesity and diabetes with the results of multivariate logistic regression.Conclusions 1.The residents living in Hubin district have higher prevalence of hypertension,larger proportion of prehypertension,lower awareness rate,treatment rate and control rate of hypertension.2.The residents living in Hubin district have larger proportion of people surveyed by tobacco harm;higher rate of male smoking;larger proportion of female exposed to second-hand smoke;higher rate of male drinking regularly,lower intake vegetables,fruits and meat;lower rate of people’s physical activity;higher rate of obesity and overweight;higher rate of central obesity and higher prevalence of diabetes.3.The risk factors of hypertension in Hubin district include having family history,male,age more than 50 years old,salty taste,body with no traffic physical activity,obesity and overweight of BMI index,central obesity and diabetes.
