ObjectiveThrough the stroke epidemiology, 1) to understand the prevalence rate and distribution of the elderly population of stroke; 2) understand the relationship between stroke and hypertension; 3) to understand the prevalence rate of hypertension and hypertension related risk factors were analyzed. MethodObjects of Survey: Yueyang City over 65 years(including 65 years) elderly permanent residents. The epidemiological survey using cluster sampling, randomly selected 5 communities to investigate.(1) The sample size estimation formula is N = KxQ/P(allowable error of 15%, K = 178), N is the number of survey, P(P is expected prevalence of stroke), Q= 1-P, P refer to "Hunan Changde Town epidemiology of stroke in the elderly population" in the prevalence of stroke(P = 12.43%), there are 1500 cases of Effective investigation.Take the questionnaires for each of the elderly surveyed,it contains: basic information, smoking, alcohol consumption, previous history of major(hypertension, diabetes) and physical exercise, life stress, monthly income(economic conditions), diet preferences, measurement of blood pressure, waist and hip circumference, and calculate the waist-hip ratio. Neurology graduate(doctor) asked each respondent whether previously suffered from stroke, and stroke in patients with a history of neurological physical examination, combined with their past medical records hospital for stroke diagnosis. Each inhabitant surveyed unified fasting glucose blood test.By using Excel to install the database, inputted and checked data by two operators. Using SPSS17.0 software for statistics and analysis. Metering data with (?) ± s(mean ± standard deviation). The ratio of prevalence of the survey stroke(high blood pressure) and the total number of samples of the survey percentage, the counting numbers Were tested by X2 test. Correlative risk factors were analyzed by multi-factor Logistic regression. P <0.05 as the significance level. Result(1) The survey found that in Yueyang City, Yueyang Tower District elderly stroke prevalence rate was 12.33%. Different ages, prevalence rate of stroke showed: With increasing age, the prevalence rate of stroke increases. Sex, educational level, different occupational categories, prevalence rate of stroke was no statistically significant difference.(2) The distribution of hypertension in stroke and non-stroke group showed: the proportion of hypertensive, stroke group is higher than non-stroke group, and the difference was statistically significant.(3) The area elderly prevalence rate of hypertension was 64.9%. Univariate analysis showed that: different gender, the prevalence rate of hypertension was no significant difference. Different ages, different monthly income, smoking or not, the prevalence of hypertension was significantly; different tastes, different frequencies of physical exercise, living in different stress levels, diabetes or not, whether or abdominal obesity, educational level different, drinking or not, the prevalence of hypertension was statistically significant difference. Multivariate analysis showed that: Yueyang City elderly age, tastes, drinking, diabetes, abdominal obesity, education, life stress, physical exercise associated with hypertension(P <0.05). Monthly income, smoking and high blood pressure was no significant correlation(P> 0.05). Conclusion(1) The epidemiological survey: prevalence rate of stroke was 12.33%. With age, the prevalence of stroke increased. Prevalence of stroke was no significant correlation between the gender, occupation and education level.(2) There is apparent significant correlation between hypertension and stroke.(3)The elderly prevalence rate of hypertension was 64.9%. The elderly in the area there is a correlation in age, tastes, diabetes, abdominal obesity, education, life stress, physical exercise with high blood pressure, Wherein the elderly, emphasis on taste, low education level, diabetes, obesity, no physical exercise are the risk factors of hypertension. Income, smoking has nothing to do with the prevalence of hypertension.
