Analysis On Prescrption Characteristics Of Liu Xu Sheng Treating Chronic Kidney Disease By Data Mining On Medical Records

ObjectiveTo Analyze the medical records and prescriptions of Liu Xu Sheng treating chronic kidney disease(CKD)by Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System,and sum up his experiences and knowledge on CKD.Methods295 CKD medical records and 743 prescriptions from 1st January 2013 to 31st December 2015 of Professor Liu Xu Sheng were collected and Parsed.Information was inputted into the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System.All collected medical records were analyzed with the analysis Platform of data mining to sum up the experience of Professor Liu Xu Sheng on the clinical understanding of chronic kidney disease treatment.Results743 prescription medication range results showed that,using a total of 156 herbals,9450 occurrences,with an average of 12.7 herbals in each prescription.The following herbals occurred for more than 200 times:Rhizoma Dioscoreae(Shan yao),Astragalus membranaceus(Huang qi),Cuscuta chinensis(Tu si zi),Atractylodes macrocephala(Bai zhu),Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae(Dang shen),Pori a cocos(Fu ling),Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch(Gan cao),Salvia miltiorrhiza(Dan shen),Eucommia ulmoides Oliver(Du zhong),Semen coicis(Yi yi ren),Poria cocos(Fu shen),Semen Euryales(Qian shi),Prunus persica(Tao ren),Radix Achyranthes bidentata(Niu xi),Rosalaevigata Michx(Jin ying zi),Taxillus sutchuenensis(Sang ji sheng),consisting 63.36%of the total.295 medical records were analyzed.Symptoms of edema,debility,thirst,soreness of waist,dizziness,bitter taste,chest tightness,headache,lumbago,palpitate,nausea were frequently seen.TCM syndromes like spleen and kidney qi deficiency,liver and kidney deficiency,Qi and Yin deficiency were common as the deficiency part,while the opposite part were hot and humid,blood stasis,wet and dirty.Using Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System,We extracted a basic prescription of Professor Liu treating CKD,which consisted of the following herbals:Astragalus membranaceus(Huang qi),Rhizoma Dioscoreae(Shan yao),Cuscuta chinensis(Tu si zi),Atractylodes macrocephala(Bai zhu),Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae(Dang shen),Pori a cocos(Fu ling),Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch(Gan cao),Salvia miltiorrhiza(Dan shen),Eucommia ulmoides Oliver(Du zhong),Semen coicis(Yi yi ren).Conclusion1.Professor Liu Xu Sheng treats CKD individually according to the disease stages and the primary diseases.The principle of "tonifying the Spleen and Kidney" is applied throughout the whole treatment of CKD.2.The basic TCM prescription used in CKD treatment by Professor Liu Xu Sheng consists the following herbals:Astragalus membranaceus(Huang qi),Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae(Dang shen),Rhizoma Dioscoreae(Shan yao),Atractylodes macrocephala(Bai zhu),Cuscuta chinensis(Tu si zi),Eucommia ulmoides Oliver(Du zhong),Semen coicis(Yi yi ren),Pori a cocos(Fu ling),Salvia miltiorrhiza(Dan shen),Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch(Gan cao).3.Based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System and data mining technique,we can objectively analyze the TCM medical records of experienced TCM doctors and show part of their experience,which is valuable for young doctors.
