Studies On The Chemical Constituents Of Ligusticum Chuanxiong

Chuanxiong Rhizoma is the dried rhizomes of Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort.that belongs to Ligusticum genus,Umbelliferae family.It has the functions of promoting the circulation of the blood and qi,expelling wind,and alleviating pain,and it is one of the most used traditional Chinese medicine.While few polar constituents have been reported,so we undertook an investigation of its constituents,mainly the polar constituents in Et OAc and n-BuOH fractions.26 compounds have been isolated and identified from the Et OAc and n-BuOH fractions of the dried rhizomes of L.chuanxiong using all kinds of column chromatography and spectral methods.3 new phthalide glycosides were named as chuanxiongoside A（LCB30-8**）,chuanxiongoside B（LCB30-9**）,ligusticoside B（LCB30-21**）,and 23 known compounds were identified as levistolide A（LCE-1）,ferulicacid（LCE-2）,senkyunolideO（LCE-3）,pregnenolone（LCE-4）,4-hydroxy-3-butylphthalide（LCE-5）,senkyunolide I（LCE-6）,senkyunolide H（LCE-7）,senkyunolide J（LCE-9a）,senkyunolide N（LCE-9b）,vanillic acid（LCB30-1）,caffeic acid（LCB30-4）,senkyunolide R（LCB30-5a）,senkyunolide S（LCB30-5b）,adenosine（LCB30-6）,thymidine（LCB30-10）,trans-chlorogenic acid methyl ester（LCB30-11*）,cis-chlorogenic acid methyl ester（LCB30-12*）,adenine（LCB30-13）,icariside F₂（LCB30-14*）,celephthalide A（LCB30-16*）,hellebrigenin（LCB30-19*）,（6S,7S）-3-butyl-3,6,7-trihydroxy-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrophthalide（LCB30-22a）,（6R,7R）-3-butyl-3,6,7-trihydroxy-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrophthalide（LCB30-22b）.LCB30-11、LCB30-12、LCB30-14、LCB30-16 and LCB30-19 were isolated from this plant for the first time.A review of studies on the chemical constituents and bioactivities of Ligusticum chuanxiong was made in this thesis.
