Clinical Research Of Periplaneta Americana L.(Oriental Cockroach) In The Treatment Of Ulcerative Rectitis Of Damp-heat And Blood-stasis Type By Retention Enema

Objective:This study was designed to observe the clinical efficacy of Periplaneta americana L.(Oriental Cockroach)on patients with ulcerative rectitis of damp-heat and blood-stasis type by retention enema.Methods:68 subjects who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,with 34 cases in each group.The treatment group were given periplaneta americana L.by retention enema and oral mesalazine,the control group were treated with saline by retention enema and oral mesalazine.The treatment was given 2 courses and two weeks as a period.The change of erythrocyte and leukocy te in feces testing,scores of colonoscopy and related symptom,blood inflammatory factors such as IL-6.TNF-a and the clinical efficacy were observed after the treatment in the two groups of patients,and draw conclusions after statistical analysis.Results:66 study cases were completed,one patient in each group was shedding.The comparability between the two groups was analysied before treatment and no significant difference was observed(P>0.05).The specific results are as follows.(1)The curative effects of two groups were compared:The 33 patients in the treatment group.6 cases were cured.16 cases were effected,the totle efficiency was 90.91%.the 33 patients in the control group.3 cases were cured.9 cases were effected,the totle efficiency was 69.70%(P<0.05).(2)The impovement of erythrocyte and leukocyte in feces testing before and after treatment of the two groups:The treatment of both groups can reduce the number of erythrocyte and leukocyte.There was a significant difference of leukocyte after treatment between the two groups(P<0.05).The efficacy of periplaneta americana L.group was significantly better than that of the control group.There was a significant difference of erythrocyte after treatment between the two groups(P<0.05),the efficacy of periplaneta americana L.group was significantly better than that of the control group.(3)The Mayo scores of the two groups:The Mayo scores were significantly lower in both groups after treatment than before treatment.Indicate that the treatment of the both groups can inprove the symptoms of patients.There was a significant difference of Mayo scores after treatment between the tw.o groups(P<0.05).The efficacy of periplaneta americana L.group was significantly better than that of the control group.(4)The colonoscopy Baron score of two groups:The Baron scores of colonoscopy after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment in both groups.Indicate that the treatment of the both groups can reduce the patients’ colonoscopy Baron score.There was a significant difference in colonoscopy Baron score after treatment between the two groups(P<0.05).The efficacy of periplaneta americana L.group was significantly better than that of the control group.(5)The effect on inflammatory factors of two groups:The inflammatory factors after treatment were significantly lower than before treatment in both groups(P<0.05).Indicate that the treatment of the both groups can reduce the levels of TNF-a and IL-6.There was a significant difference in TNF-a and IL-6 after treatment between the two groups(P<0.05).The efficacy of periplaneta americana L.group was significantly better than that of the control group.(6)The recurrence rate and adverse reactions of two groups:There was no significant difference in the recurrence rate after 3 months of withdrawal between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the efficacy of the two groups in preventing short-term recurrence of disease;No significant adverse reactions were found in both groups during the course of medication.Conclusion:1.In this study,Periplaneta americana L.(Oriental Cockroach)was used to treat the patients with ulcerative rectitis of damp-heat and blood-stasis type by retention enema and no significant adverse reactions were found during the course of medication.2.Periplaneta americana L.(Oriental Cockroach)and oral mesalazine in the treatment of patients with ulcerative rectitis of damp-heat and blood-stasis type is effective,which can effectively improve the frequency of defecation,blood in the stool and other major clinical symptoms.3.The efficacy of the treatment with periplaneta americana L.(Oriental Cockroach)by retention enema and oral mesalazine in treating the patients with ulcerative rectitis of damp-heat and blood-stasis type was better than that of the treatment with saline by retention enema and oral mesalazine,which could provide a method with good curative effect and high clinical remission rate for the clinical treatment of ulcerative rectitis of damp-heat and blood-stasis type.
