This report focuses on the translation of the chapters 9-11 selected from the book Beyond Positive Thinking:A No-Nonsense Formula for Getting the Results You Want and some summaries during the translation process. The original text is written by American writer Dr Robert Anthony. The works is in the form of sub-sections describing the direction and significance of thinking. Meanwhile, the author takes the concrete samples from the different level of the positive thinking and negative thinking. Moreover, the author gives clear guidance on the direction.The translation report can be divided into 3 chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, which introduces the background, objective and significance of the subject. The second chapter is process description including pre-translation preparation such as text analysis, main tools, and the collection and expansion of the psychological term, etc. Moreover, this part mainly focus on the analysis of key points and difficult points, which author has encountered in the translation process. Then the author offers the corresponding solutions. At the end of the chapter, author list the concrete proof-reading after translation. The third chapter is case analysis. In this part the author analyzes and summarizes the basic or typical cases encountered in translation, and then corresponding solutions are given under the guidance of Skopostheorie and translation strategies such as reinventing the sentence structure, semantic explication, etc.Based on the analysis of the report, the following findings are put forward:(1) full preparation of translation is of great importance for translation practice; (2) as translation is a kind of communication between different cultures, it is necessary to choose different translation strategies to make the translation version more accessible to the target readers; (3) it is suggested that translators should have some relative disciplines backgrounds and a wide scope of encyclopedic knowledge will help to catch the points of the author and reduce readers’misunderstanding.
