| With the promotion of educational exchanges throughout the world, many universities focus on the development of internationalization and thus build their own English websites.Most of the contents are translated from the Chinese website. In addition to introducing the history, schools and majors of the university, the English website also includes translated information of latest news, which indicates the significance of news translation to the university’s publicity.As a practical report on Chinese-English news translation, this report analyses the translation work of the news in the Tianjin University News Website. From the content, the news can be divided into three categories: visits and exchanges, scientific research and student activities, which report the events Tianjin University has had in these areas. Based on the materials, the writer mainly analyses the news translation under the guidance of Relevance Theory and how to realize the communicative intention of the news.The writer mainly describes the background and characteristics of the task and the process of translation, with a focus on the analysis of translation practices.
