A Report On The Interpreting Practice Of Chifeng Erdaojingzi Site

In escort interpreting,the interpreter provides interpreting service for a client on a visit,and makes sure both the client and those around the client understanding each other.The discourse coherence and cohesion are important for information transfer,and discourse management.The employment of cohesion and coherence into interpreting practice can improve the quality of interpreting expression.Thus,this report,on the basis of discourse cohesion and coherence,analyses the application of discourse cohesion and coherence in escort interpreting.This report is based on the interpreting practice of the author accompanied two foreign students visiting the Erdaojingzi Site in Chifeng.After the interpreting,the author made a full analysis on the material,and analyzed the transcript of the interpreting practice with discourse cohesion and coherence.This escort interpreting practice lasted nearly 60 minutes.The author finds out mainly three kinds of problems exist in the interpreting process,namely lexical cohesion,semantic coherence,and logical coherence,and the author used knowledge preparation,logical analysis improvement and coherence reconstruction,respectively to solve the problems.At the same time,this report intends to provide a case study and more choices of strategies for escort interpreting.
