On The Decorative Beauty Of Qiangmu Mark Art In Tibet

Taking Tibetan Qiangmu mask art as the major research object, this paper illustrates the impacts of geographic environment and ethnic cultural connotations on the artistic imaging of Qiangmu mask from four aspects such as the historical cause, cultural connotation, decorative pattern and color language of Qiangmu mask. Moreover, the decorative technique and aesthetic features of this mask art are explored.Most studies of Tibetan mask art are focused on the origin, function and its relations with religion, but very few are conducted from the perspective of decorative art. The exploration on Qiangmu mask is indistinct as well. This paper is aimed at studying the decorative pattern, modeling change as well as color matching and symbol of Tibetan Qiangmu mask. To be specific, it probes deeply into the decorative property, decorative pattern and modeling style of Tibetan Qiangmu mask, and analyzes the decorative implications and application techniques of Tibetan Qiangmu mask, in the hope of providing useful reference for the mode of image presentation and the diversity of painting means.
