| This is a project report on the translation of Pricing Strategy. With Eugene A.Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory, this paper has proved the importance of Functional Equivalence in translation with specific examples. The excerpts of this report are from the 9 chapters of "Setting the Price"The main content of this report is divided into four parts:Part One is the translation projection description, including introduction to the author, main content and description of the source text.Part Two is the process of the translation project, including the processes before, during and after the translation.Part Three is about case analyses, including the difficulties encountered during the translation and how to settle those problems through various translation strategies, and this paper discusses in detail how to translate the "V+ing" construction into Chinese nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs.Part Four concludes with the lessons, enlightenments and problems that remain unsolved in the translation project. This translation practice has given the translator a deeper insight into translation approaches to the business texts from English to Chinese, and has helped the translator gain an economic knowledge. It is hoped that this translation practice can be of great help to translations related to business texts. |
