In the continental philosophers,Maurice Merleau-Ponty,the main representative of phenomenological existentialism,is unique in thinking about language problems.Maurice Merleau-Ponty's study of language takes phenomenology as a research method, regards existentialism as a theoretical basis, and combines structuralism and dialectics to open up a new path for the study of linguistic philosophy. His language thought not only promoted the development of linguistics but also laid a solid foundation for language.Maurice Merleau-Ponty's linguistic concept combines the Husserl's phenomenology and Heidegger's ontology and the influence of Saussure's structuralism linguistics on him can not be overlooked.Saussure is called "the father of modern linguistics",he included in the"general linguistics tutorial" in a book can be described as linguistic"Copernican revolution".Saussure's thought makes us face the language,so that the philosophy of language has the ontology of the backing,in the Western philosophy of language has a unique position.Maurice Merleau-Ponty did not fully agree with Saussure's point of view, but the collision with Saussure's linguistics has great influence in the Maurice Merleau-Ponty language phenomenon thinking, and even the entire ideological process has far-reaching impact.
