| The source text of this translation report is drawn from Energy-Based Economic Development: How Clean Energy Can Drive Development and Stimulate Economic Growth,a book co-published in 2014 by two authors,Sanya Carley,an assistant professor at Indiana University,as well as Sara Lawrence,a senior economic analysis at RTI International.According to Newmark’s text typology theory,it belongs to informative text.So Newmark’s communicative translation theory can be applied here,in which translator stresses the effect on target audience,and solves their difficulties and barriers in communication by breaking limits of source text,thus making the target text lucid and clear.The translation report is composed of 5 chapters.For a start,the author gives an overall description of the translation project,including its background and significance.The second chapter serves as an introduction to the author and main contents of the source text,together with the analysis of it.In the third chapter,the author introduces Newmark’s communicative translation theory which is used in this report.The forth chapter analyses difficulties and key points in this translation project,and then puts forward methods from the perspective of communicative translation theory.The last chapter is conclusion,which includes enlightenments and problems to be listed. |
