Rhapsody in Blue is an epoch-making Jazz symphony and it was a great attempt by composer George Gershwin try to integrate the national music material with the piano art.As one of the most representative works of the development of American music culture in the early twentieth century,thispiece of music is of immeasurable artistic value.The charm of creative features and the daring of jazz,it provides a solid foundation for us to gain a better understanding of American jazz.This paper is divided into three chapters.Take George Gershwin's Rhapsody in blue as the object of study and focusing on the study of jazz,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the work respectively from the background of the times,overall structure,performance skills and teaching research.The paper tries to make a deep analysis of the characteristics and style,technical difficulties and profound influence of the work through the combination of objective and rational literature research with personal performance experience.It is hoped that through the analysis on the cultural background and artistic features of the work,we can provide a certain basis and help for performance,teaching and practice.
