China and Thailand are geographical neighbors and culturally connected with a long history of friendly contacts.With the vigorous development of Chinese language education in Thailand,advance education in Chinese teaching has received more and more attention as the governments and universities between the two countries have cooperated closely.The Chinese teaching in Chinese Study Department,Faculty of International Study,Prince of Songkla University has been developed for ten years and has explored its own way.It could be a representative case in Chinese advance teaching among Thai universities.In this paper,the current situation of Chinese teaching in the Chinese study department is taken as the object of investigation,and the questionnaire and interview are analyzed from four aspects: curriculum,students,teachers and teaching materials.The existing problems are analyzed and the corresponding suggestions are put forward by reflection.The first introductory chapter describes the background of the study and research-problems.Research ideas and research methods,and references are reviewed at home and abroad,as a research base.The second chapter introduces the Chinese study department,Faculty of International Study.This chapter elaborates the situation of the curriculum,the students,the Chinese teachers,and the textbooks,which is based on my internship experiences during latest two years,combing the questionnaire and the targeted interview.In the third chapter,based on the summary of the questionnaire survey and interview,following problems are analyzed.On the curriculum aspect,span and connection between related curriculums are unsuited.Students aspect includes the various basis and weak study motivation.In Chinese teacher team,staff turnover and teaching skills issues exist.The selected textbooks and self-compiled teaching materials is not match to level of the students.The fourth chapter in the reflection of the above problems,targeted to put forward the corresponding suggestion,as to optimize the system,to stabilize the teaching staff,to creating language learning environment,to strengthen the exchange of learning,to improve teaching level.
