Shuowenjiezi(shuowen),writed by Xu Shen who is a outstanding person in the history of our language,is the first dictionary which comprehensively analysises the fonts and meanings of Chinese characters.Through a thousand years of writting,many errors come to exist.During the reign of qianjia,"the study of Shuowen" was at its height and a hundred schools of thought contend,Annotation to Shuowenjiezi(Duanzhu)was the most authoritative.The introduction of Duanzhu has sparked a boom in "Xuxue" and "Duanxue".The achievement of Duanzhu is multi-faceted,but its corrections to the article have attracted the attention of scholars.Duanzhu make the posterity have the opportunity to read Shuowen because of its correction and annotation.Taking the Shuowen which is published in 1963 compared with Duanzhu in the seventh part,we found 256 differences which we call the "Corrections" as the object of this thesis.After summarizing those "Corrections",we divided them into four types:Correction with words;Correction without words;Correction within words;The comparison of Lianzuandu and Sanziju.The first three chapters,the Corrections can be categorized into several types depending on the content:to correct the shape of the character;to correct the meaning of the character;to correct the structure analysis and pronunciation analysis of the character;to correct the quotation of character.On the basis of this classification,we make some analysis one by one.The final part is to summarize the four categories and point out its significances and shortages.However,we know his defects cannot obscured his achievements,because of the unique language and philology has a far-reaching influence on later generations.
