A Study On The "Corrections" In The Fourteen To Fifteen Section Of Annotation To Shuo Wen Jie Zi

Shuo Wen Jie Zi(hereinafter referred to as Shuo Wen),compiled by Xu Shen in the Eastern Han Dynasty,is the founding work of Chinese language and philology.The research atmosphere of linguistic course in the Qing Dynasty was flourishing,and the notes of Duan Yucai,Gui Fu,Zhu Junsheng,Wang Yun,etc.pushed Shuo Wen to the peak.However,in the process of being circulated in the past dynasties,the original Shuo Wen had been rewritten and gradually lost its original appearance.Then the number of people annotating on it and Wanting to restore Shuo Wen was quite a lot.Duan Yucai learned linguistic theory from Dai Zhen and the method of using documents to prove Chinese characters,Qing Duan Yucai devoted himself to writing a book for thirty years by means of phonology,exegetical,collation,textual research and other methods,in order to striving to restore the original appearance of Shuo Wen.Duan Yujie used "Jinzheng" as the symbol,corrected the character,interpretation,pronunciation,font structure,citation and written forms one by one.The book was thoughtful and critical,which had a great influence on the research of Shuo Wen in later generations.This paper compares the 1963 photocopy of Shuo Wen(derived form Qing Chen Changzhi)which is called Da Xu version with the Shuo Wen compiled by Duan Yucai of Shanghai Classics Publishing House and analyzes the examples of "Jinzheng" in the Chapter 14 and Chapter 15 one by one,at the same time synthesizing Xiao Xu Edition and other dictionaries.Through analysis,215 parts of the revised Shuo Wen(excluding the changes of function words in the text)are revised in the fourteenth chapter,which can be divided into three categories:"correction with annotation","correction without annotation "and "with annotation containing correction",which are discussed separately in the three chapters,which are subdivided into five parts:"correct character pattern"," correct character meaning",“correct pronunciation and structure”,“correct citation”and "correct character Variants".The fourth chapter analyzes and explains the problems of "three-character sentences" and "Lian Zhuan reading"used by Duan in the correction of Shuo Wen,combining with the example of "correction".In the chapter four,section two,according to the "correction" style of the first three chapters,the author makes a sentence by sentence analysis of Duan Yuche’s Shuo Wen.Finally,the paper discusses the achievements of "correction" of Duan Zhu and expounds the enlightenment of "correction" of Duan Zhu on the research of proofreading.The research of correction in Duan Zhu not only focuses on the study of Shuo Wen from the perspective of mutual pursuit of form,sound and meaning,but also reflects the achievements of the collation of Duan Zhu.Moreover,it is to correct the loss of the paragraph notes by integrating scholars’ remarks and unearthed literature materials,and restore the original appearance of the book,so as to view Shuo Wen from the perspective of Chinese history.
