The object of this research paper is the exercises taken from 2 sets of representative of intermediate listening and speaking textbooks. Under the guidance of listening and speaking integration, the quantity, the patterns, the maneuverability and the stability of the exercises are analyzed, the relationship of the location between the exercises and other sections and the correlation between different practice contents are discussed. Based on the results, the writer concludes the effective exercises which are suited to the mode of listening and speaking integration and puts forward some suggestions for compiling intermediate listening and speaking textbooks in the future.The whole study can fall into 3 parts.The first part is Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, which puts forward the significance of the research and the method used in the analysis. It makes some summary of the domestic and foreign academic research achievements on the exercise as well as the listening and speaking integration.The second part is from the third chapter to the fourth chapter, which is the focus of this article. Detailed investigation and cautious analysis of the exercises from different angles are carried on in this part.The third part is Chapter 5, which summarizes the characteristics of the practice of the two sets of textbooks, concludes the effective way for the listening and speaking integration, and puts forward some suggestions to the intermediate listening and speaking textbooks in the future.
