This is a report on the E-C Translation project of Trinity College Dublin Postgraduate Courses 2017(Excerpts),which is sponsored by Europe & Asia Center of Zhejiang Shinyway Overseas Studies Co.Ltd.Trinity College Dublin Postgraduate Courses 2017(Excerpts)is published by Trinity College Dublin to introduce schools,specialties and courses,as well as admission requirements for applicants of 2017.Trinity College Dublin Postgraduate Courses 2017(Excerpts)is designed to help EU and Non-EU applicants learn more about postgraduate courses,and make satisfactory choices.The author firstly analyzes the linguistic features of the source text,and finds that the text is rich in course specialized words and owns formal style and clear logic.According to these features and the purpose of the translation,the author takes skopos theory as the theory basis of the whole project,analyzes and discusses the specific translation methods(conversion,free translation,amplification and omission,division,literal translation and reference of parallel texts,etc)applied in the translation practice with typical case studies to achieve skopos rule,coherence rule and fidelity rule in translation,which improves the readability and acceptability of the target text,and provides a useful reference for the development of overseas studies programs in Ireland.Finally,the author presents the evaluations of the translation project,shares gains and reflections during the process of translation so as to provide references for future translation practice and researches.
