Research purposes: this paper applies core strength training in teaching,aim to distinguish the differences between this training method and traditional strength training in improving students' 100 m special athletic ability.Taking 60 boys majored in sports education from Grade 2014 of Wuhan Sports University and Wudangshan International College of Kungfu as experimental subject, the author has been training them by the core strength preexperiment for 12 weeks. After 12-week training, the author continues to train these students for 16 weeks by the method of the core strength training.Research methods: the whole experiment is based on the 12-week pre-experiment.During the experiment, students are divided into 3 groups and the basic and closing sections of track and field education remains the same. After warming-up, Group 1 takes the core strength training for 30 minutes. Group 2 takes the traditional training for 20 minutes and then take the core strength training for 10 minutes. Group 3 takes the traditional training for30 minutes. After these, the author compares the results of these 3 groups such as grades of100-meter race, core strength, special strength and speed in dash.Conclusion:(1) After the experiment,students in Group the combination of traditional training and core strength training has improved in speed quality, special strength and core strength,There are also some improvements in their 100 m special athletic ability,which proves this combined way can be used in sprint teaching.(2) After the experiment,students in Group takes core strength has made great progress in core strength,and has a little progress in special speed,special strength and special athletic ability of 100 m.(3) After the experiment,students in Group takes traditional training has improved in special speed and special strength and a little progress in grades of 100-meter race.(4) this experiment proves that combined way can greatly improve grades of 100-meter race. While traditional training way improves a little in grades of 100-meter race.The core strength training can not be an effective way in sprint teaching.
