Research On The Intervention Of Social Work In The Construction Of Social Support System For Migrant Children In Urban Village

Since the 1980s,China has begun to tansfer from the traditional agriculture society to modern industrial society.With the transformation,massive rural population has been flowing into cities to make a living,resulting in the common phenomenon that an increasing number of children follow their parents into city lives,known as urban migrant children.Because of the restriction of the economic conditions,most of these migrant children and their parents choose to live in lower-priced rent houses of the city.As special marginalized group,the original social support system of migrant children has been broken and they are facing with a lot of challenges from various aspects including lives,education and psychological adaptation.With the combination of three-month internship experience in A organization,this essay will take the migrant children in X urban village of Hefei City as the research sample,collecting relevant information through observation,the non-structured interview,questionnaire and literature research methods.It is found that there are inadequate social support for migrant children in X urban village.However,the establishment of the "migrant children development project" from A organization plays an important role in building the social support network of migrant children.They apply professional methods to intervene its social support system and cooperate with multiple forces including migrant children family,school,community,government,non-government organizations and charitable entrepreneurs,initially achieving the target of reconstructuring the social support system for migrant children in urban village.Meanwhile,from the standpoint of social work,this essay also provides reasonable suggestions for multiple support forces to perfectly improve the social support network as well as to promote its better integration to urban lives.
