Objective:Cough variant asthma(CVA)is a special type of asthma,it’s also a common disease of the respiratory system.Coughing is the primary or only clinical manifestation typically seen for Cough variant asthma,A lot of people with ceaselessly or recurrent coughing, ultimately lead to cough variant asthma. The incidence of cough variant asthma has been increasing in recent years, currently, modern medicine mainly use anti-inflammatory drugs, bronchodilator drugs, antiallergic drugs as a symptomatic treatment. However, its efficacy is not ideal, and has many side effects on the human body, with high relapse rate after stopping western medicine. Therefore, there are still some limitations in the treatment of this disease with western medicine. The treatment of Chinese medicine is based on treatment according to syndrome differentiation, distinguishing the syndrome, etiology and pathogenesis, based on treating the root,to improve the patient’s overall symptoms and improve the quality of life. Therefore, using traditional Chinese medicine to treat this disease is becoming more attractive.Professor Yang Daowen has accumulated a deep understanding and treatment method for cough variant asthma with more than 20 years of clinical experience in this field of study "Yiqishufengfang" is created by professor Yang Daowen that was based on years of his clinical experience,The basic composition of this prescription has huangqi, baizhu, fengfang, chantui, jiangcan, zhimahuang, kuxingren, this formula is focused on supplementing Qi and strengthening the root of the body, dispersing the wind to expel the pathogenic Qi to treat the exterior.this treatment method of his is focused on treating the exterior and interior simultaneously with Chinese medicine. The purpose of this study is to observe using"Yiqishufengfang" to treat the Cough variant asthma patients with Qi deficiency accompanied with wind syndrome, and discuss the clinical curative effect of Yiqishufengfang,to provide a new idea of diagnosis and treatment of Yqishufengfang for this disease.Method:In the first part of this dissertation,by searching through literature,I summarized ancient and modern medical practitioner’s research that were related with Cough variant asthma. This dissertation consists of four main parts, which are the Chinese name for CVA,etiology and pathogenesis for CVA,different variations of diagnosis and treatment for CVA and the clinical experience related with CVA.The second part of this dissertation is comparing and observing the patient’s before and after symptoms from the treatment,I found 20 patients with Qi deficiency and wind syndrome of cough variant asthma, and treated them with "yiqishufengfang",focusing on cough, pharynx itching, lassitude, aversion to wind and sweating, recorded the patient’s condition before and after the treatment, then apply the data to the statistical software SPSS20.0 to analyze and evaluate the observation from the clinical curative effect of "yiqishufengfang" on cough variant asthma.Result:Using "Yiqishufengfang" to treat Qi deficiency and wind syndrome for cough variant asthma,Comparing the symptom’s score of the before and after treatment, there was remarkable statistical significance between the two(P<0.01),the patient’s clinical symptom has significantly improved from before.1 case were cured,4 cases were markedly effective,13 cases were effective,2 cases were ineffective, the total effective rate was 90%.Conclusion:the patients of Cough Variant Asthma with Qi deficiency and wind syndrome, clinical symptoms and signs have achieved significant clinical results. It has important clinical significance and applicable value. Thus the results show that the effectiveness and adaptive range of the "method of Tonifying Qi and Dispelling Wind",and provided a new idea for diagnosing and treating Cough Variant Asthma.
