This paper mainly studies the relationship between the middle class in Malaysia and the development of democracy in the country,that is,how the interaction between the two.The first chapter introduces the purpose and significance of research,research status at home and abroad,research methods,etc..The second chapter is the definition of the core concepts and related theory.The third chapter mainly analyzes the background and development process of Malaysia's middle class.The fourth chapter mainly discusses Malaysia's middle class and political ideas and political characteristics,analysis of the middle class in Malaysia is how to promote the national democratic transition,and the influence of Malaysia democratic transformation of the middle class.The fifth chapter compares the different effects of the middle class in Malaysia and South Korea in the process of democratic transition,and according to the particularity of Malaysia's middle class to explore the future trend of the relationship between the middle class and Malaysia democratic transformation.This paper argues that although Malaysia is still in the process of democratic transition,the political democracy in Malaysia has reached a certain level,and the middle class in Malaysia has played an important role in it.Just like other countries in Southeast Asia,the growth of the Malaysian middle class also benefited from the economic development under the authority of the authoritarian government,and thus it can be said that the government and its policy-driven products.With decades of high-speed economic development,the Malaysian middle class is growing,and actively participates in political change in the country through elections,participation in political social movements,participation in non-governmental organizations,and so on.However,due to ethnic and religious factors,the Malaysian middle class has always had a high degree of internal heterogeneity,the Malaysian middle class has not been able to reach a certain degree of consensus on major issues and beyond its original ideology and faction interests.At the same time,the Malay middle class is most heavily protected by government policy,enjoys a lot of privileges,and has the strongest dependence on the government,which makes the Malay middle class with a population advantage greatly diminishing the role of promoting Malaysian democratic transformation.In the current situation,the road to democratic transformation in Malaysia is still long,perhaps only when Malaysian political life is no longer characterized by race,and the economic gap between the various ethnic groups gradually disappear,the Malaysian middle class democratic power will appear out of its mighty power.
