The Geological Characteristics And Prospect Of The Bauxite Deposit In Huoxi-Hedong District,Shan Xi Province

The Huoxi-Hedong metallogenic basin is a bauxite metallogenic belt with huge reserves in Shanxi Province.The study on the geological characteristics of bauxite in this area has important reference value for determining the direction of regional prospectingBased on the summary and study of geological characteristics,geophysical,geochemical and metallogenic paleogeography characteristics of bauxite deposits in Huoxi-Hedong area,this paper discusses the source of ore-forming material and the orecontrolling factors of bauxite deposits in Huoxi-Hedong area.The ore-forming model indicates the prospecting area of Huoxi-Hedong area.The basin is located in the central part of Shanxi block,which is old and new in the north and south,and the carbonate platform is a large karst depression with high and low levels in the north and south.Bauxite is mainly concentrated in the middle of the depressions.The capture of many karst depressions in the region is favorable to the enrichment of the ore-forming materials,and the ore-forming favorable areas are mostly concentrated on the slopes of the basin and syncline structures of the ore-bearing strata.The funnel of karst depressions is an important area for the enrichment of bauxite.The ore-forming basin experienced strong denudation leveling and quasi-plain,which provided paleogeographic conditions for the formation of bauxite.The residual matter of paleo-weathering crust of Ordovician carbonate rocks provided the material basis for the accumulation and accumulation of bauxite and its concomitant minerals.The transgression range of Benxi period controls the distribution,occurrence,thickness variation and production scale of bauxite in the area.The bauxite ore bearing rock series in this area is vast and has great potential of resources.At present,most of the proven bauxite deposits are located at the edge of the slope of the Huoxi-Hedong basin,most of them belong to opencast mining deposits,and the existing bauxite deposits are distributed in space.Both of them are consistent with the distribution of the late ancient coal accumulation basins(coal producing areas)in Shanxi Province and are preserved together with the coal-bearing basins.The deep bauxite deposits in this area are mostly located under the coal seam of Carboniferous system,and the evaluation and development of " lower coal aluminum " is the second space for the prospecting of bauxite in this area.
