Under the pressure of global warming,how to reduce greenhouse gas emissions has attracted the attention of the countries around the world.Energy conservation and emission reduction has become one of the most important tasks of governments.Governments positively adopt policies to limit carbon emissions.Carbon emission trading system is the most widely used carbon emission policies.This thesis discusses a production problem with transshipment in a global supply chain under different carbon emission trading systems.An optimization model is established for large multinational manufacturers to maximize their profit.We use the software Cplex to solve the model.We also analyse the influences of parameters of carbon emission trading system,unit transhippment cost,unit delayed delivery cost,inventory cost and manufacturer’s proportion of delayed delivery cost on enterprises’ production and transshipment amounts,the profits of different supply chain members(including manufacturer and retailer),and carbon emissions.The main content of the thesis is as follows:(1)According to the characteristics of global production and operation of multinational producers,the production with transshipment model under different carbon emission trading systems is constructed.The difference between carbon emission trading systems is reflected by the variable and fixed carbon pricing mechanisms.The model formulation and numerical simulation are carried out from the perspective of single production period and multiple production periods.(2)We analyse the influences of the difference between carbon emissions trading systems on decisions variables and carbon emissions in a single period.Then,we discuss the influences of emissions trading mechanisms with variable and fixed carbon prices on the enterprise’s production plan,transshipment amount,the profits of different supply chain members(including manufacturer and retailer),and carbon emissions.The influence of the unit transshipment cost is also analyzed.The analysis provides constructive suggestions of carbon emission policy making for national and regional goverments.Managerial findings are summarized from the perspectives of large multinational producers and retailers,respectively.(3)Considering the factors of inventory and delayed delivery along with more than one production period in a planning horizon,we build a global supply chain production with transshipment mathematical model under different carbon emission trading systems.The influences of unit delayed delivery cost,inventory cost and manufacturer’s proportion of delayed delivery cost on the enterprise production plan,transshipment strategy,the profits of different supply chain members(including manufacturer and retailer),and carbon emissions are analyzed.Furthermore,managerial insights for national and regional governments,large multinational manufacturers and retailers are given.The conclusions of this thesis provide decision support for the production planning with transshipment of supply chains.Manageial findings are summarized from the perspectives of large multinational producers and retailers.In addition,we provide strategies for the design of carbon emissions trading system.Therefore,the research in this thesis has theoretical and practical significances.
