In recent years, the output of Shixi and Luliang crude oil fields has been reduced year by year, and the throughput of Shike-Kedusan pipeline, which is one of the main export pipelines of the crude oil fields, have been decreased yearly too, which puts forward new requirements for the safe operation of the pipeline. How to ensure the safe, economical and efficient operation of the pipelines has become an urgent problem to be solved.According to the parameters of pipeline, actual operating and lab data,a computational model of the Shike-Kedusan pipeline is established by SPS.The minimum allowable throughput and safe shutdown time of the Shike-Kedusan pipeline are calculated for different transportation schemes. The feasible transportation schemes that vary with different ground temperatures and different throughputs are obtained.Based on the safe shutdown time, several feasible intermittent transportation schemes are proposed to further reduce the minimum allowable throughput of the pipeline. This paper also studies the feasibility of reducing transportation cost by using the looped pipeline of Kedusan pipeline in parallel operation. The results show that the use of looped pipeline can greatly reduce the transportation cost under the condition of appropriate ground temperature. In addition, according to the actual operating and the laboratory experiments,it is found that mixing a certain proportion of heavy crude oil with waxy crude oil transported by these lines can significantly reduce the pour point. The rheological parameters of the mixed crude crude oil with different blending ratios are tested. It provides a new way to achieve the safe operation of Kedusan pipeline.According to the predicted task throughput of the Shike-Kedusan pipeline in 2019,the transportation schemes suitable for task throughput at different ground temperatures are selected, and the unit transportation costs of different export schemes are compared, and the recommended transportation schemes at different temperatures are given.
