| In recent years, with the rapid expansion of China’s economic scale and the ongoing urbanization process, cities are playing more and more significant roles in the international greenhouse effect, and studies on the changing and regulation of urban carbon emissions have become an important direction in addressing global climate change. For making more effictive policies, this paper took Beijing,Shanghai,Tianjin and Chongqing four megacities as research objects,we analyzed these four cities in the economic and trade activities in the consumption side change characteristics of carbon emissions, inspected the carbon emissions flow caused by trade activity between provinces, and explored the influence of four large urban growth driving force factors of carbon emissions.Firstly, this paper used 2007,2010,2012,2015 China MRIO tables to account the consumer side of the four megacities of carbon emissions, and analyzed from the aspects of final demand, industry distribution and correlation, the results show that there is a growing trend of carbon emissions year by year in Beijing and Chongqing,Shanghai and Tianjin emissions after first growth and decline. From the perspective of industry,Consumption-based carbon emission of the four cities are mainly concentrated in the construction industry and the service industry, while the metal smelting and manufacturing industry as well as the electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industry are the main industries that promote the rise of carbon emissions from other industries. From the perspective of final demand, the formation of fixed capital and the consumption of urban residents contribute almost all consumption-based carbon emission.Secondly, the transfer of carbon emissions from the consumption side caused by trade activities between the four cities and other provinces was analyzed from the perspectives of industry sectors. The results show that the Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Hebei province are the major areas who received consumption-based carbon emission in Beijing and Tianjin.Anhui,Jiangsu,Shandong are the major areas who received consumption-based carbon emission in Shanghai.Guizhou,Hebei,Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Sichuan province are the major areas who received consumption-based carbon emission in Chongqing. From the perspective of industry characteristics,Beijing,Shanghai,Tianjin and Chongqing receive the major net inflow of carbon emissions in labor-intensive or technology-intensive industries.Thirdly, with the analyzation of the four large urban consumption-based carbon emissions and structural decomposition of the carbon emissions transfer between provinces,we found that the carbon intensity is the main driving force mainly curb carbon emissions growth factors, per capita demand is the main factor to boost the growth of carbon emissions. Finally, based on the conclusions of the above empirical analysis, reasonable policy suggestions are proposed for China’s four megacities from the aspects of optimizing industrial structure, improving energy use efficiency and reducing carbon emission intensity, setting emission reduction targets on a differentiated basis and promoting joint emission reduction between cities and provinces. |
