Reactive power compensation is an important way to ensure the operation economy and power quality of distribution system.The rational apply of reactive power compensation technology through the research of reactive power compensation has practical significance.The compensation equipment can play full performance advantage by the rational selection of reactive power compensation equipment and the control strategy which ensure the coordination of different reactive power compensation equipment.The suitable reactive power compensation equipment installation location can be selected,and the installation capacity is determined in consideration of the power system economy,which can be used as the reference for distribution system planning and construction.Firstly,the basic principle of reactive power compensation is analyzed,the common mathematical model of reactive power optimization is introduced,Static Var Compensator and Static Synchronous Compensator are chose for focused analysis,the voltage regulation capability of two reactive power compensation equipment is verified by PSCAD simulation.Based on the analysis of the mathematical model and operating principle of STATCOM and SVC,a coordinated compensation method of STATCOM and SVC is proposed in this thesis,the compensation cost is reduced by the coordination of low capacity STATCOM and high capacity SVC,the control strategy takes advantage of the capacity of SVC,so STATCOM has the margin to deal with the rapid changes of load,which reduces the SVC capacitor switching times and the operating losses.The simulation model is established in PSCAD,the validity of control strategy is verified.Considering system investment cost and voltage level,the installation location and capacity of coordinated compensation are selected,the annual reduce cost is chose as the objective fiunction in this thesis,and the penalty function is used to ensure the system voltage in the normal range.The Fireworks Algorithm is chose to solve the objective function,and it is improved to be more suitable for the objective problem,the actual operating capacity under different load conditions is calculated by the sequence quadratic program algorithm,which provides the fitness function value for the Fireworks Algorithm.Finally,the reactive power optimization is calculated in IEEE33 node system and a real distribution system,the results show that the algorithm is feasible and effective.
