Object:To investigate the effectiveness and safety of traditional open surgery combined with foam sclerotherapy on varicose veins of lower extremity. Methods:Retrospective analyses of 156 cases data of lower extremity varicose veins who underwent surgery in the Department of vascular surgery,Kunming general hospital from March 2016 to March 2017.Because of the different physicians have different treatments, the 156 patients were divided into two groups. The patients who received the combined treatment of foam sclerotherapy were divided into group A,others who underwent traditional open surgery were assigned to group B.There are 81 patients in group A and 75 patients in group B.The two groups were compared with operative time, blood loss, number of incision, postoperative pain and postoperative complications(Postoperative fever, wound infection, subcutaneous hematoma, lymphatic leakage, thrombotic superficial phlebitis, skin necrosis, limb paresthesia, deep venous thrombosis). After 1 year follow-up,the improvement of lower limb symptoms in two groups were assessed with the CEAP clinical classification and VCSS score assess. In order to understand the effect of lower extremity vein operation on the function of femoral deep vein valve,at the time of preoperation and postoperation, color doppler was used to check the duration of reflux(VCT)and peak velocity(Vmax)of the affected limb vein. Results:Group A is superior to group B in the operation time, intraoperative bleeding, surgical incision, postoperative infection and subcutaneous hematoma, the first day of postoperative pain and hospitalization(P<0.05).There is no significant difference between the two groups in the incidence of deep venous thrombosis, the improvement of deep venous valve function, the time of postoperative ulcer healing, hospitalization expense, postoperative symptom improvement and recurrence rate(P>0.05).All patients with deep venous valvular dysfunction had improved valve function after operation(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.The combination of traditional open surgery and foam sclerosing therapy is effective in treating varicose veins of the lower extremities, with less trauma, faster recovery and fewer complications.2.Foam sclerotherapy is easy to operate and does not require large equipment,so it can be popularized and implemented in basic hospitals.3.The short-term efficacy is certain, but the long-term efficacy and recurrence rate need to be followed up.
