Application Of The Theory Of ’Paying Equal Attention To Sinew And Bone’ In Traditional Chinese Medicine In The Treatment Of Pilon Fracture

Objective:The purpose of this study was to analyze the application of the theory of‘Paying Equal Attention to Sinew and Bone’in Traditional Chinese Medicine in the treatment of Pilon fracture by collecting clinical records,and evaluate its effect on alleviating swelling and pain and promotion of incision healing in early pre-operation and post-operation.Methods:Forty-two patients with Pilon fractures who were eligible for inclusion in the Pilon fracture were randomly divided into two groups,21 in each of the experimental and control groups by using a randomized controlled trial.In the control group,the intravenous detumescent drug(Mannitol Injection 250ml)was used to treat the patients.On the basis of this,the experimental group was treated with the combination of TCM which is by drinking Chinese medicine Taohong Siwu Decoction,external-using ice nitrate loose and Mahuang tincture.The alleviating swelling and pain and promotion of incision healing were observed in two groups of patients,and the data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0 statistical software.Results: After treatment,there was a difference between preoperative and postoperative comparisons about the circumference of limbs,swelling,striae appearance time in the each group interior(P<0.05).And there was a difference between the two groups about about the circumference of limbs,swelling,striae appearance time(P<0.05).There was no difference between the two groups in the degree of postoperative incision healing and pain degree(P>0.05).Conclusion: The application of the theory of‘Paying Equal Attention to Sinew and Bone’in TCM in the treatment of Pilon fracture,acquired significant clinical efficacy in the preoperative and postoperative alleviating swelling,which was in the use of drinking Taohong Siwu Decoction and external-using ice nitrate loose,and combining with the intravenous swelling drug(Mannitol Injection 250ml).There was no evidence in this study that the analgesic effect of the experimental group was superior to that of the control group,but there was a greater number of patients in the experimental group who had a lighter pain rating after treatment.By using Mahuang tincture to cover wound after operation,there was not enough evidence to show that it can promote the healing of the incision,but in this study,there was no more serious incision healing problem in the group of using Ma Huang tincture.
