Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis Of Eficiency Of Liver And Kidney By Acupuncture For Supplementing Liver And Kidney

Objective: Using a randomized and controlled method to observe the differences in integral of knee joint symptoms and signs,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),Knee Joint Activity Score and the content of Nitric Oxide(NO)in knee joint fluid between routine acupuncture and liver and kidney nourishing acupuncture.And to explore the mechanism of acupuncture in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis with deficiency of liver and kidney.And to provide certain basis for clinical application of acupuncture in treating knee osteoarthritis of liver and kidney deficiency type.Materials and methods: Sixty patients with knee osteoarthritis of deficiency of liver and kidney were selected according to the diagnostic criteria,inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria.According to the principle of randomization,60 patients were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group with 30 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were treated with acupuncture at local acupoints of knee joint.Patients in the observation group received the treatment of acupuncture with Back-shu points of liver and kidney meridians on the basis of the control group.Other treatment factors were the same between the two groups.Both two groups were treated once a day,30 minutes at a time,10 times for a course of treatment,and a total of three courses of treatment.After the treatment,the scores of knee symptoms and signs,Visual Analogue Pain(VAS),knee joint activity score and the content of Nitric Oxide(NO)in knee joint fluid and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups.Results: 1.The Clinical Integral Scores: After treatment,the scores of symptoms and signs,VAS and knee joint activity scores in both groups were much lower than those before treatment(P < 0.05).It is suggested that both needling local acupoints of knee joint and tonifying liver and kidney needling can relieve clinical symptoms and improve joint activity in patients with knee osteoarthritis of deficiency of liver and kidney.After treatment,the scores of observation indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05).It is suggested that the curative effect of the observation group is better than that of the control group in alleviating clinical symptoms and improving joint activity.2.Clinical Efficacy: There was significant difference in clinical efficacy between the two groups after treatment(P < 0.05).The clinical efficacy of the observation group was better than that of the control group.3.Content of Nitric Oxide in Knee Synovial Fluid: Before and after treatment,there was significant difference in NO level in knee joint fluid between the two groups(P < 0.01),suggesting that both kinds of acupuncture treatment can reduce NO level in knee joint fluid of patients.There was significant difference between the two groups after the treatment(P < 0.05),and content of Nitric Oxide(NO)in knee synovial fluid of the observation group was better than that of the control group.Conclusion: Acupuncture for tonifying liver and kidney can reduce NO level in joint fluid of patients with knee osteoarthritis of liver and kidney deficiency type,inhibit inflammatory reaction and chondrocyte apoptosis,effectively relieve pain symptoms of knee osteoarthritis,relieve joint stiffness,improve knee joint function,and has definite clinical curative effect.
