Objective: To observe the safety and clinical therapeutic effect of the modified angelica root-four inverse decoction in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy(Yang deficiency-cold coagulation syndrome).Method: The 60 cases of patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy(Yang deficiency-cold coagulation syndrome)in this study were collected from the outpatient of The Second Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between March,2018 and September 2018.All of these patients were randomly divided into two groups, the treatment group and the control group, each group had 30 cases and the rate was 1:1.Mecobalamine oral treatment was taken by the control group, and the treatment group was administrated by the modified angelica root-four inverse decoction, and 4weeks was considered as one course of treatment.Relevant safe index,TCM(traditional Chinese medicine)syndrome score, therapeutic effect of TCM syndrome,MNSI physical examination score and ABI were employed for conducting the evaluation.Result:1.Relevant Safe Index: The pretherapy and post-treatment comparison between the treatment group and control group prompted that the P values of hepatic function and renal function were all greater than 0.05,the differences had no statistical significance.2.The TCM syndrome score comparison: The TCM syndrome score of both groups had drop to some extent after the treatment, and the treatment group was superior to the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);moreover,the scores of five items, namely, numbness of limbs, cold pain of extremities, weariness and laziness to speak, feeble waist and knee,as well as intolerance of cold, had more apparent decrease, the treatment group was superior to the control group, the difference had statistical significance(P<0.05);the changes and differences of tongue nature had no statistical significance(P>0.05).3.Comparison of Therapeutic Effect of TCM Syndromes: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 86.67%,while the rate of the control group was 63.33%;the treatment group was superior to the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.Comparison of MNSI Physical Examination Score: The MNSI physical examination scores of both groups had decrease to some extent after the treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);and that the improvement extent of the treatment group was superior to the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).5.ABI Comparison: The ABI of both group had somewhat increase after the treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);and that the improvement extent of the treatment group was superior to the control group, and also the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion1.The Modified angelica root-four inverse decoction can reduce the TCM syndrome score in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy(Yang deficiency-cold coagulation syndrome),improve the total clinical effective rate, improve the patients’ TCM clinical symptoms, and that the effect is superior to the control group.2.The Modified angelica root-four inverse decoction can lower the MNSI physical examination score in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy(Yang deficiency-cold coagulation syndrome),increase the ABI level, improve the patients’ neurological and vascular function and alleviate the patients’ clinical symptoms, the effect is superior to the control group.3.The Modified angelica root-four inverse decoction is safe and effective in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy(Yang deficiency-cold coagulation syndrome),and there is no adverse effecting on liver and kidney function.
