| Objective: To study the changes of serum levels of irisin and secreted frizzled-related protein 5(SFRP5)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. Methods: 240 patients with type 2 diabetes according to BMI were divided into normal weight group(W1 group,n=80),diabetic overweight group(W2 group,n=80)and diabetes and obesity group(W3 group,n=80).Besides,healthy check-up with normal BMI people as control group(W0 group,n=80).Cpmpared the difference between the four groups in the general information and serum Irisin and SFRP5 levels.Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between serum Irisin and SFRP5 and body mass index, waist to hip ratio, blood lipid and blood glucose.Multivariate regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between serum Irisin and SFRP5 and related metabolic indexes.P< 0.05 had statistical significance. Results: 1.Although the W1 group serum Irisin and SFRP5 decreased compared with the W0 group is not obvious(P>0.05),but the serum levels of Irisin negatively correlated with Ln(FINS),Ln(HOMA-IR),SFRP5 negatively correlated with Hb A1 c,Ln(FINS),Ln(HOMA-IR).2.Compared with W1 group and W2 group, the serum Irisin,SFRP5 were significantly decreased in W3 group, meanwhile serum Irisin and SFRP5 were negatively correlated with BMI、WHR.3.Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that BMI and WHR were important factors of serum Irisin(β=-0.05,-2.73,P < 0.05),and BMI was the independent factor of serum SFRP5(β=-1.15,P < 0.05).Conclusion:In obese patients with type 2 diabetes serum irisin and SFRP5 levels were significantly decreased, indicating that both of them may play an important role in the occurrence and development of diabetes mellitus complicated with obesity. |
