| Research purposes:To understand the current status of benefit finding of the main caregivers of patients with ischemic stroke;analyze the impact of the general information of patients and caregivers on the benefit of caregivers;explore the social support, coping style, the impact of cognitive evaluation and optimism on benefit finding,to improve the level of benefit finding of caregivers and provide data and theoretical support for the corresponding intervention strategies.Research method:The main caregivers of ischemic stroke patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria in the neurology department of a top three hospital in Zhejiang Province from January to September 2019 were selected by convenient sampling. The General Information Questionnaire,Benefit Finding Scale(BFS),Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS),Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ),Impact of Event Scale-Revised(IER-R),Life Orientation Test-Revised Scale(LOT-R)were used for questionnaire survey.EXCEL 2016 software was used for data entry,SPSS 25.0 software was used for data analysis, and AMOS23.0 software was used for path analysis. The general data and disease data of patients and caregivers were surveyed by using selfdesigned questionnaire, the Benefit Finding Scale was used to measure the benefit finding of caregivers, the Social Support Rating Scale was used to measure the social support of caregivers, the Simple Coping Style Questionnaire was used to measure the coping style of caregivers, the Impact of Event Scale-Revised was used to measure the cognitive evaluation of caregivers, the Life Orientation Test-Revised Scale was used to investigate the optimistic tendency of customers.Using independent sample T-Test,one-way ANOVA and Nonparametric Statistics to analyze the differences in the total score of benefit finding of the caregivers of ischemic stroke in general data;using Pearson and Spearman correlation analysis to analyze the relationship benefit finding and social support, coping style, cognitive evaluation and optimistic tendency;multiple linear regression method was used to analyze the influencing factors of benefit finding among caregivers;the effects of social support, coping style, cognitive evaluation, and optimism tendency on benefit finding and the influencing paths among variables were investigated by means of path analysis.Research results:1.A total of 280 questionnaires were issued,258 of which were valid, with an effective rate of 92.14%.2.The ages of the caregivers ranged from 18 to 84 years old, with an average age of(52.98±13.36),including 81 males(31.4%)and 177 females(68.6%).There were 85 caregivers(32.9%)as spouses,142 children(55.0%)and 31 other relatives(12.1%).The age of the patients ranged from 38 to 93 years old, with an average age of 71.09±10.29,including 142 males(55.0%)and 116 females(45.0%).3.The total score of the benefit finding of the main caregivers of ischemic stroke patients is(69.35 ± 15.46),and the average score from high to low was 3.50(2.67,4.00)for healthy behaviors,3.17(2.67,2.83)for family relations,3.00(2.33,4.00)for acceptance,3.00(2.43,3.71)for personal growth, and 2.67(2.00,3.67)for social relations. The scores of coping styles and positive coping styles were(30.10 ± 7.40),(21.29 ± 6.82),and the median and quartile of social support, negative coping, cognitive evaluation, and optimism were 41.00(36.00,46.00)points,9.00(7.00,10.00)points,24.00(16.75,32.00)points,13.00(12.00,14.00)points.4.The results of univariate analysis show that the caregiver’s benefit finding score differs in the caregiver’s age, education level, work status, monthly income per capita, daily length of care, number of co-caregivers,and relationship with the patient. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.The results of correlation analysis showed that the benefit finding of caregivers of patients with ischemic stroke were positively correlated with social support(r=0.521,P < 0.01),positive coping(r=0.619,P< 0.01),and optimistic tendency(r=0.350,P < 0.01),and negatively correlated with cognitive evaluation scores(r=-0.384,P < 0.01).6.Regression analysis showed that the four factors of the total caregiver’s daily care duration, positive response, cognitive evaluation, and optimistic tendency entered the regression equation, which could explain 51.3% of the total variation of the caregiver’s benefit finding.7.Path analysis shows that optimism tendency, positive response, and cognitive evaluation have direct effects on benefit finding.Social support and optimism can indirectly affect the benefit finding through positive responses, and social support can indirectly affect the benefit finding through cognitive evaluation.Research conclusions:1.The benefit finding of caregivers of patients with ischemic stroke needs to be further improved, and the scores of health behavior dimension and family relationship dimension are higher.2.The influencing factors of caregivers’ benefit finding were the daily care hours of caregivers, the educational level of caregivers, the co-caregivers and the average monthly income of caregivers’ families.3.Path analysis results show that positive coping style has the greatest effect on benefit finding, followed by social support, and cognitive evaluation has the third largest effect on the sense of benefit.4.According to the analysis results of the factors affecting the benefit finding of the caregivers, the medical staff can intervene to improve their benefit finding. |
