Objective: To investigate the correlation between serum C1 q tumor necrosis factor related protein 3(CTRP3)and calcification levels of coronary artery in type 2 diabetes patients that may provide a new diagnosis and treatment methods on the early diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery calcification. Methods: 78 cases were enrolled in Cardiology Department of The Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University from April 2018 to August 2019,including 44 cases males and 34 females. The selected patients were divided into four groups based on whether they were suffering from type 2 diabetes and coronary artery calcification, including diabetes with calcification group(n=28),diabetes without calcification group(n=9),calcification without diabetes group(n=25)and no diabetes and no calcification group(n=16).Furthermore,diabetes with calcification group was divided into mild calcification group(n=8),medium calcification group(n=14)and serious calcification group(n=6)dependent on the results of coronary angiography.Patients with calcification without diabetes were divided into mild calcification without diabetes group(n=13),medium calcification without diabetes group(n=7)and serious calcification without diabetes group(n=5).Clinical data like tester's age, sex, systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),smoking history, hypertension history, height and weight etc.were collected and lab indexes like glycosylated hemoglobin(Hb A1c),fasting plasma glucose(FBG),uric acid(UA),total cholesterol(CHOL),triglycerides(TG),high density lipoprotein-C(HDL-C)and low density lipoprotein-C(LDL-C)etc.were collected. The CTRP3 level of tester's serum was tested by applying enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results:1.In the comparison of the general situation documents, there was no statistical significance of sex,age,BMI,SBP,DBP,CHOL,LDL-C and UA comparison difference(P>0.05).The incidence rate of coronary artery calcification of type 2 diabetes group was 75.68%,and the incidence rate of coronary artery calcification of non-type 2 diabetes group was 60.98%,so there was no statistical significance between the two(P>0.05).Diabetes with calcification group was compared to no diabetes and no calcification group,Hb A1 c,FBG and TG were significantly elevated,HDL-C was significantly reduced,so the difference had statistical significance(P<0.05).2.Logistic regression analysis result showed that CTRP3 was negatively correlated with coronary artery calcification(P<0.05),which was a protective factor of coronary artery calcification.Age was positively correlated with coronary artery calcification(P<0.05).When age was increased in every 1 year, the danger of coronary artery calcification would be increased 0.088 fold, which was an independent risk factor of coronary artery calcification. The probability of coronary artery calcification was higher in men than in women(P<0.05),which was an independent risk factor of coronary artery calcification.3.In type 2 diabetes patients,CTRP3 level was negatively correlated with the calcification level of coronary artery(P<0.05),which was decreased with increased calcifications.4.In non-type 2 diabetes patients, there was no significant correlation between CTRP3 level and coronary artery calcification level(P>0.05).5.Among the four groups, the serum CTRP3 level had difference,CTRP3 levels of patients in diabetes without calcification group, calcification without diabetes group,no diabetes and no calcification groups were all significantly higher than diabetes with calcification group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference among other groups.6.The ROC curve area of whether type 2 diabetes having coronary artery calcification by serum CTRP3 level judgment was 0.800,95% CI was 0.636?0.963,P=0.008,the doubtable value interval was 0.3255.At this time, the sensitivity was 88.9% and specificity was 67.9%.The ROC area under curve of whether non-diabetes having coronary artery calcification by serum CTRP3 level judgment was 0.504,95% CI was 0.308?0.702,P=0.968,the doubtable value interval was 0.3780.At this time, the sensitivity was 80.0% and specificity was 43.7%.It could be known that testing CTRP3 level was helpful in predicting the occurrence of coronary artery calcification in type 2 diabetes patients. It was expected to become a new biological index in diagnosing type 2 diabetes with coronary artery calcification. Conclusions:The CTRP3 level in type 2 diabetes patients was negatively correlated with coronary artery calcification, which was a protective factor of coronary artery calcification.CTRP3 may participate in glycolipid metabolism process of type 2 diabetes with coronary artery calcification patients. The CTRP3 level was negatively correlated with coronary artery calcifications and was decreased with increased calcifications. It was expected to become a new index in predicting calcifications.
