| Objective: By observing the clinical efficacy of warm acupuncture alternately on both the healthy side and the affected side for the treatment of idiopathic facial paralysis of acutely wind-chill type, this paper explores the effectiveness of this method in treating the wind-chill type of the disease and its advantages and disadvantages compared with the affected side of warm acupuncture. Methods: A total of 72 cases of idiopathic facial paralysis of the acute stage with wind-chill type that met the inclusion criteria from August 2018 to December 2019 were randomly divided into a treatment group(36 cases)and a control group(36 cases). Both groups received the drug treatment. In the acute phase(within 7 days),the treatment group was given warm acupuncture alternately on both the healthy side and the affected side for the treatment of idiopathic facial paralysis of acutely wind-chill type, and the control group was given the affected side of warm acupuncture. On the eighth day,the two groups began to receive conventional electro-acupuncture at the affected side. Before treatment(day ofconsultation and admission),after 1 week of treatment, after 2 weeks of treatment, and after 4 weeks of treatment, they were graded and evaluated by the House-Brackmann(H-B)scale.Data was analyzed by SPSS21.0software.Results: A total of 70 cases were completed in this study. One person in the treatment group fell off because of inability to adhere to the treatment, and one in the control group fell off because of poor adherence.(1)Baseline data: Before treatment, the two groups were comparable in terms of baseline data such as age, gender, course of disease, and H-B scale(p>0.05).(2)H-B scale classification at each time: after one week and two weeks of treatment, the rank sum test p value was more than the 0.05,and after four weeks of treatment, the rank sum test p value was more than the0.05.After 1 week,2 weeks, and 4 weeks of treatment in the two groups, the H-B scale classification gradually improved, and there was no significant difference in H-B scale classification between the two groups after 1 week and 2 weeks of treatment. After 4 weeks, the H-B scale was better in the treatment group than in the control group.(3)Effectiveness at each time: After 1 week,2 weeks, and 4 weeks of treatment in the two groups, the efficacy gradually improved. There was no significant difference in efficacy between the two groups after 1 week and 2 weeks after treatment(p>0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment, the treatment group had a more effective rate of 82.9% and an effective rate of 97.1%;thecontrol group had a more effective rate of 71.4% and an effective rate of88.6%.The treatment group was better than the control group(p<0.05).Conclusion: Both the treatment and control groups are effective, but the therapeutic advantages of alternating warm acupuncture only become apparent later in the recovery period of this disease. |
