Ever since Task-Based Language Teaching was published in the 1980s,its method of teaching has been utilized by language learning theories and second language acquisition,as well as in a classroom setting.Task-Based Language Teaching(TBLT)is task-oriented,which makes the understanding and designing of a task particularly important.It can be said that task design will directly affect the effectiveness of teaching.Therefore,this paper chooses task design as the starting point to analyze TBLT from the theoretical aspect and the practice aspect.In the theoretical aspect,this paper will study the theoretical basis,the definition of a task,task types,principles for task-based language teaching and a framework for designing task-based lessons.In practice,CET(Kunming)summer program is selected as the research object.After analyzing the program by the principles for TBLT put forward by David Nunan and Rod Ellis's framework for designing task-based lessons,the author summarized the"CET Task-based teaching model".Next,the author will classify task types in CET(Kunming)summer program based on the task types presented by Jack C.Richards,and then enumerate the actual cases for each task type.In the following chapter,this paper will study a specific case to show the operational procedures clearly.Eventually,the author will evaluate the case and the whole program,hoping that the task design studied in this paper will be able to assist other teachers in the same field.
