The growing importance of English,especially the oral English,has been highlighted with the informationization of social life and the globalization of economies.However,due to various subjective and objective factors,oral English Teaching in senior high schools is not optimistic.Some teachers and students do not pay enough attention to oral English training.The overall oral level of students' is hard to meet the requirements of the new curriculum standard.Therefore,how to cultivate students' oral ability and how to improve oral English Teaching in senior high schools has become a topic worth studying.Most of the traditional teaching methods focus on intelligence factors,and seldom consider the non-intelligence factors.Suggestopedia suggested inventive advocate of the integrity of the people,and it is a method established on the basis of science.The method starts from a view that the student is a complete individual,allowing the learners to play the brain's potential in a mood of pleasure,and combine the consciousness and the unconscious to master the foreign language quickly and effectively.Firstly,this paper gives a brief introduction to Suggestopedia's background,definition,and its theoretical basis.Secondly,the author combed the previous related literatures of the teaching method and the current situation of oral English Teaching in senior high school.Thirdly,the author expounds the theoretical basis and experimental research process of Suggestopedia.According to its principles and teaching techniques,the author designed an application plan and conducted an experiment on the students of senior high school.The author makes a detailed comparison and analysis of the process and the results of the study,and found that the students in the experimental class has improved their oral English greatly while those in the controlled class hasn't.And also,the relationship between teacher and student has also become more harmonious in the experimental class.Finally,the author summarizes the findings and shortcomings of this study and the prospect of the future in this field.The author hopes that these suggestions can serve the teaching practice of English language better in our country.
