A Report On E-C Translation Of Parallel Perspectives On The Global Economic Order

This report is based on E-C translation.The translation of a political and economic report entitled Parallel Perspectives on the Global Economic Order(about 15,000words)from the U.S.Center for Strategic and International Studies(CSIS),which collected the U.S.-China dialogue on the global economic order.This project is also one of the cooperation projects between Guilin Research Center for Government Digital Dissemination and Cultural as a Soft and Guangxi Normal University.As the two major economies in the world today,China and the United States have a great influence on the international economic order.In view of the fact that the current research on the global economic order mostly starts from a single vision,there are few related works on the perspective of U.S.-China dual perspectives.The author translates the results of the dialogue between China and the U.S.on the global economic order into Chinese,which is conducive to further strengthening China’s comprehensive understanding of international economic affairs,and also helps China to obtain more ideas in dealing with international economic issues.This report describes the whole translation process,analyzes translation problems and provides solutions in light of Li Changshuan’s “Comprehension,Expression,and Adaptation(CEA)” framework to analyze cases in translation practice.Through case analysis,in this project,it turns out that the problems about comprehension are mainly reflected in the lack of background knowledge,the misunderstanding of professional words,and the lack of analysis of syntactic structure.The problem of expression is mainly reflected in improper wording and westernized Chinese.Adaptation problemsare that the original logical relationship is not grasped,and the translation is not flexible enough.After verifying a great a large number of related documents and comparing the revised version and the original version,the author found the deficiencies and proposed improvement methods.Through this translation practice,the author’s own translation ability has been significantly improved,and a large amount of professional knowledge in the international economic and political fields has been made up in a short period of time,which has brought positive significance for future study and work.
