English writing is not only an important language skill of English learners,but also a concrete embodiment of English comprehensive ability.With the rapid development of education today,the needs of English talents are also put forward higher requirements.However,it is not easy to develop and improve student's English writing skills in middle school English education.At the same time,it puts forward higher requirements for middle school English teachers' writing teaching.Therefore,it is quite necessary for middle school English teachers to put forward an effective teaching method of English writing.The Anchor Instruction Teaching Model is based on constructivism and emphasizes that the teaching of English writing should be carried out in a relatively real situation.This study attempts to apply the Anchored Instruction Teaching Model to junior middle school English writing class in order to improve students' English writing ability and stimulate students' interest in English writing.In this study,89 students from two classes in the eighth grade of Yanan Shi Yan Middle School were selected as the experimental objects.Questionnaire,test and interview were used in the research.The Anchored Instruction Teaching Model was applied to the experimental class,while the control class adopted the traditional teaching mode of writing.After a 14-week experiment,the writing test scores and questionnaire data were analyzed by SPSS 20.0.The results showed that before the experiment,the average score of writing in the experimental class was 7.8222,while that in the control class was 7.7500.There was no significant difference between the two classes in their pre-test writing scores.After the experiment,the average score of writing in the experimental class was 10.5333,and that in the control class was 8.0227,and the Sig value was less than 0.05.Therefore,there was a significant difference in the post-test writing scores between the two classes.Therefore,the Anchored Instruction Teaching Model is helpful to improve students' English writing performance.In addition,a comparative analysis of pre-test questionnaire,post-test questionnaire and interview results shows that the students' interest in writing has changed significantly after the experiment,and the students' preference for English writing has been improved significantly.Therefore,the application of Anchored Instruction Teaching Model English writing teaching is effective in junior middle school.The Anchored Instruction Teaching Model is helpful to improve students' English writing achievement and stimulate students' interest in English writing.
