English reading teaching is an important way to cultivate students’ reading literacy.The general goal of the English course at the compulsory education stage is to enable students to form a preliminary comprehensive language ability through English learning,promote mental development,and improve comprehensive humanistic quality.However,the current junior high school English reading teaching has the problems of lack of creating a real situation and paying too much attention to language knowledge points.To some extent,it neglects to cultivate students’ comprehensive language application ability and comprehensive humanistic quality.The anchored instruction model is in line with the actual situation of junior high school English reading teaching and the characteristics of junior high school students’ cognitive development,and cultivates students’ autonomous learning and cooperative learning in real situations.Therefore,the anchored instruction model is of great significance to promote the transformation of English teaching model and realize the transformation of learning mode.This research is based on Constructive Learning Theory,Situational Cognition Theory,and Piaget’s Cognitive Development Theory.The research objects are the 15 th class and the20 th class of the seventh grade in Anshan HY Middle School.The research methods are experimental method,questionnaire method and interview method.First of all,through the questionnaire,it is learned that the seventh graders are not interested in English reading,have not developed a good reading attitude,and have not mastered the learning strategies of English reading.Secondly,to the above problems in current situation,starting from the characteristics of adolescents’ cognitive development,the anchored instruction model is applied to the English reading teaching in junior high schools.Thirdly,through the statistical analysis of the experimental data through Spss25,the research result is that the application of the anchored instruction model has a positive effect on students’ English reading performance,and then through interviews,the students’ reading interest and reading attitudes have all improved after the application of the anchored instruction model.Finally,from the five perspectives of creating situations,determining problems,independent learning,cooperative learning,and effect evaluation,the in-depth study of the anchored instruction model puts forward corresponding teaching suggestions and provides feasible references.
