In recent years,learning Chinese language is becoming more and more popular throughout the world.The need for Chinese language and culture education is rapidly expanding.As a key component,the language teaching materials(such as textbooks,videos,etc.)play an indispensable role in the education process.Currently,there already exist several widely-used teaching materials prepared by domestic and overseas scholars or institutions.Now it is the time that we should take a deeper study on the available Chinese teaching materials to see how they effectively served their purpose and how to further improve them.One notes that although the domestic presses have issued rich content of Chinese teaching materials with various forms,there's no specific test aiming for the domestic learners(the only one choice is the new HSK and YCT).How do the Chinese language teaching materials match with the Chinese level tests?What is the relationship between outlines of the Chinese teaching materials and of the Chinese level tests?How about the 2015 new HSK outline?How was it changed and compared with YCT and other Chinese teaching materials?These topics have not been carefully studied before.Our study is motivated by these questions.We have chosen the set of Chinese teaching material "Yu Miao Hua Yu"(YMHY),which is compiled by the Chinese Education Institution of east Java,Indonesia,and the set of Chinese teaching material "Han Yu"(HY),which is compiled by the Chinese Language and Culture College at China,as our research objects.This study is focused on the match between "YMHY"'and the YCT,"HY"and the HSK test outlines.With reference to YCT's syllabus,we perform the level matching between YMHY and YCT and analyze the content of YMHY,mainly on the two aspects:the lexical distribution and the grammar arrangement.Similar analysis is done for HY and HSK outline.From the study,we attempt to reveal the possible mismatching problem regarding these two sets of Chinese teaching materials in reference to the Chinese level tests' outlines.The purpose of this work is to update and perfect the present Chinese teaching materials,and to provide the theoretical support to the writing of the overseas Chinese teaching materials.At the same time,it also provides useful data and suggestions to the design of the Chinese level tests,and further helps to build a foundation for future revisions of the level tests' outline.We also provide some feedbacks to the 2015 new HSK outline.From this research,we attempt to provide some suggestions on the compilation of overseas Chinese teaching metirals,as well as on the teachers' instructions and students' learning.
