The Research On The Texts Of The Overseas Chinese Teaching Materials

This paper investigates the texts of six sets of representative overseas Chinese teaching materials systematically. On the contents, the author inspects the five parts of the social life covered by the texts, pointing out the features and the functions of them in the texts, and analyzing the proportion and distribution of them in the teaching materials on the statistical data. Based on the texts with thought theme and the statistical data of the proportion of the texts reflecting each kind of thought value, the author analyzes the eight kinds of thought values reflected in the texts and points out the functions of them on the children's education. On the forms, the author investigates the two basic types of the texts: the dialogue type and the non-dialogue type, pointing out the features and the shortcomings of them respectively. Based on the research, the author gives some suggestions on the writing and arranging of the texts of overseas Chinese teaching materials.
