Classroom learning community is a pluralistic,democratic,equal and open classroom teaching method.Different from the cooperative learning group that mainly adopts cooperative learning,learning community learning is a kind of learning method that combines independent learning,inquiry learning and cooperative learning.Furthermore,learning community learning is not limited the interaction between students and students,but includes both peer-to-peer interactions as well as between students and teachers or any other relative.There are many studies on the learning community about college class and teacher groups in the academic circles,but there are relatively few researches on the learning community combined with the junior high school disciplines.In particular,there are few studies on the application of the learning community in junior high school English reading teaching.Therefore,in view of the important position of reading teaching in junior middle school English teaching,it is necessary to explore the application of learning community in junior high school English reading class,which is aimed to cultivate students? ability of independent learning,inquiry learning and cooperative learning and improve students? reading interest and reading level.This paper takes the practice of classroom learning community in junior middle school English reading class as an example to explore its influence on the improvement of English reading ability of junior high school students.In this study,two classes in the second grade are selected from Huanghuadian Middle School of Xiuyan County,Anshan City as the experimental class and control class.The author makes use of questionnaire,classroom recording,interview,pre-test and post-test to explore two research questions:(1)What is the impact of learning community application on students? reading motivation and reading interest in junior high school English reading?(2)How does learning community application influence student? reading achievements?Through the study,it can be found that in the learning community class,learners can gain more time and opportunities to communicate with peers and get encouragement and help from group members and alleviate learning anxiety in the classroom to create a more active class atmosphere.Besides,it can be seen that the class participation in experimental class is higher than controlled class and students are active in independent learning,cooperative learning as well as inquiry learning from class recording.At the same time,from the analysis of the results of the questionnaire and interview,it can be also known that the students in the experimental class have also improved their interests in English reading,motivation and comprehensive language skills.And through comparative analysis of the English reading pre-test and post-test results of the experimental class and the control class,the author finds that the progress of the experimental class is significantly greater than the control class.Therefore,it can be demonstrated that the classroom learning community is still helpful for students? reading achievement.Finally,the author puts forward targeted teaching suggestions based on the limitations of the learning community classroom teaching process and the students? opinions so that it can provide references for teacher? teaching.
