Research And Design Application On Decoration Of The Early Jataka Murals In Dunhuang

Story painting is an important category in Dunhuang murals.The story paintings of Dunhuang murals mainly include Jataka murals,Karma stories,and Buddhist stories,which are very rich in content.The Jataka murals are mostly painted in the early caves of Dunhuang,and the decorative language is used in the artistic expression technique,which reflects the strong decorative beauty.The use and expression of decorative language and decorative form beauty in Dunhuang mural art greatly enriched the artistic value of Dunhuang murals.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practieal signifieance to systematieally and fully study the decorative nature of Dunhuang murals and effectively draw on the use of its rich decorative elements for innovative design.This thesis takes Jataka murals of the Dunhuang Sixteen Kingdoms in the Northern Dynasties as the research object,selects the representative mural paintings,and analyzes the creative theme and performance of the early Jataka murals from the perspective of how to use the decorative artistic language.Techniques,modeling features,composition forms,color language,style evolution,and summed up its decorative features and laws,revealing its aesthetic artistic value.The main contents of this thesis include the introduction of the historical development of Dunhuang’s early Jataka murals,the analysis of its decorative features of composition,composition and color,as well as the enlightenment and application of its decorative design to modem design creation.On the one hand,the purpose of the study is to znhenit and develop the Dunhuang culture and art that reflects the connotation of the traditional national spirit.On the other hand,it is trying to apply the Dunhuang decorative elements to modem design flexibly,and to open up a broader space for modern design,creating a design that reflects both Chinese cultural connotation and contemporary sense.
